It's crazy how your senses mesh together over one experience. That's what happened to me last weekend. I played two shows. One outside during the day, and one inside a cafe at night. The themes, invisible themes were quite different.

Friday, I played outside of a used clothing store in Davis. It was just me, so only one mixture of colors for that day. Great atmosphere, the air was clean, smelled good, everyone was friendly. The whole time there was a baby blue feel to it, with a hint of yellow. Very subtle. The weather was great, which kept the feel rather warm. It was nice. If you're ever in Davis check out Bohemian Clothing Boutique, it's an awesome place!

Saturday was different. There were three of us set to rock the stage at a cafe in Sacramento. I was first, then Sly Park. Funky rockers who know how to jam. They brought out a creamy yellow, orange, khaki, with waves of green. Looks better when not read out loud. Warm feel as well. It was cool, I couldn't stop body drumming!

After that was Blue Oaks. Contrary to thier name, it was nearly all purple, deep purple.(No they're not a cover band.) The sound transported you back to old timie days. Southern cross roads a bit, dirt of course. Besides purple, there were hints of black, navy, white. And there was a cold chill that hit you as well. Not in a bad way, a very good way. Amazing what two musicians can produce on one stage!

Both bands complimented each other very well. Sly Park with there warm funky tones, and Blue Oaks with there dark gritty sounds. The whole experience was sick! My senses were definitely worked. I would recommend both of these bands to anyone. And if you can see them together, even better. It all took place at the Shine Cafe. Cool place, very friendly staff. When on E Street in Sacramento, check out the Shine Cafe.

Once I start brushing up on my water colorings, no pun intended, I need to paint each show experience. I don't know if words alone can fully describe it. Dang, I should do that.

Cheers, Tajlyn
